The documented difference

Ente Photos describes cross-platform encrypted photo backup, on-device face grouping, memories and shared albums. Its public product is organized around maintaining and finding a photo collection across devices. See Ente Photos’s official documentation.

Side-by-side decisions

When Ente Photos is the better choice

Ente Photos may be the better choice for a whole photo-library replacement, particularly when cross-platform backup, shared albums and photo discovery are central. NullVault does not claim to replace those collection-wide capabilities.

When NullVault fits

NullVault is relevant when you need a selected private archive, including documents and notes, with a boundary separate from everyday photo-library browsing. Treat this as a different workflow rather than a claim that cloud photo services cannot be private. Read offline use, platform-specific pricing and security limitations for the released scope.

Before you move an archive

Choose whether the goal is a full library migration or a small private collection. Test exports, original quality, supported content and recovery. Moving a copy into a vault does not revoke shared albums or downloaded files in the original service.

How this comparison was prepared

This is a comparison of published product documentation as of 12 September 2026, not a hands-on security test or independent audit. Store plans and platform support can change. NullVault Team publishes this page; there are no affiliate rankings or invented star scores.
