NullVault is an independent mobile app for iPhone and Android. It stores private photos, videos, files, and notes in separate encrypted vaults, where each vault is opened by its own pattern rather than selected from a list.
Who builds NullVault
NullVault is built and maintained by the NullVault Team, a small independent development group. The app is not backed by an advertising business, and it does not require a NullVault account to use a local vault.
The same team writes and reviews every guide, comparison, and security page published here. Questions, corrections, and security reports all reach us at support@nullvault.app.
Why this site exists
Most writing about "hiding photos" blurs together three different things: moving a file out of a gallery view, putting it behind the device lock, and encrypting a separate copy under a credential of its own. Those have very different consequences when a phone is borrowed, repaired, sold, or seized.
The guides on this site exist to keep those distinctions visible. They describe platform behavior as the platform vendors document it, and they say plainly where a protection ends.
How we write about our own product
Publishing security claims about software you sell creates an obvious conflict of interest. Three practices are meant to keep this site useful in spite of that:
- Every public feature claim is tied to a reviewed implementation. Feature pages carry a review date, and platform differences between iOS and Android are stated rather than blurred into a single promise.
- We publish what NullVault does not protect against. The security limitations page is a permanent part of the site, not a footnote.
- Comparisons are allowed to conclude against us. Each comparison names the situations where a built-in feature or a competing app is the better choice.

Verify rather than trust
Nothing on this site is an independent audit or certification of NullVault. Where a guide describes how a platform behaves, it links to the vendor's own documentation so you can confirm it yourself.
